Films of a single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT)/TiO2 nanotube (NT) hybrid have been tested for the first time as active layers for resistive gas sensors. Sensitive layers were prepared by airbrushing composite dispersions on alumina substrate. Sensor responses were established by resistance measurements from 25 to 200°C in air atmosphere with different pollutant gases (toluene, octane, NO2, H2 and NH3). In order to investigate the sensitive characteristics of sensors, the experimental results were compared to the responses of SWCNT sensors. The hybrid sensor exhibits greater response than the SWCNT sensor.
