This paper proposes the use of a prototype electronic nose for the detection of 2,4,6-trichloroanisole in cork stoppers as an alternative to other detection methods used in the cork industry, such as gas chromatography. The results obtained in a preliminary test show that the device presented in this work is able to differentiate between contaminated and uncontaminated cork stoppers.
