Among the green technologies that are being introduced, the Power Ultrasonics (UDP) form an emerging field with great potential to produce or improve many processes. A series of new generation systems UDP for applications in the food industry, environmental and manufacturing industries have been developed in the laboratory and semi-industrial scale. For the industrialization of these processes is to influence the expansion of power capacity ultrasonic generators by eliminating and / or control of nonlinear vibration inherent to high intensities own power processes.
In this paper the vibration characteristics of a vibrating circular plate transducer designed for defoaming liquid media has been experimentally characterized by a system of electrical and optical measures. The non-linear effects that affect the operation of ultrasonic systems have been detected and discussed their physical causes. This information can be used to develop more efficient ultrasonic generators.
