The article presents a study of using an alternative strategy in the design of microperforated panels (MPP) with panels of millimetric thickness while maintaining its acoustic performance. According to the author, the use of MPP as sound absorbers in various contexts has increased. He points that microperforated insertion units avoid the structural problems of the classical MPP, which is why the assessment on the sound absorption of these structures are considered.
