The internship at the LMA focuses on optimizing the parameters of an acoustic silencer. This silencer is a tube on which resonators of increasing height are added, with at their base micro perforated plates used to increase energy dissipation. In order to size as effectively as possible the silencer, we will use several methods by defining a cost function to minimize. The methods used consist in minimizing transmission, maximizing absorption, maximizing dissipation and they use a weighting sum of absorption and dissipation by a coefficient ß. We compare the results obtained with the Pareto method, multi-objective optimization to get a set of compromise solutions. The acoustic parameters and performance are then compared using graphs, with particular attention to reflection, dissipation and transmission for each optimization method. The optimizations are first performed without flow, then with flow in a second time by comparing the figures and graphs obtained.
