The primary objectives include advancing the understanding of the combined impacts of contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) and climate change on diverse marine environments, developing innovative technologies for CECs monitoring in the ocean, and assessing their consequences.
2023
The project aims to advance the technological development of biomedical imaging systems to enhance their clinical applicability in the diagnosis and treatment of relevant neurological diseases, such as stroke.
To this end, the aim is to develop a multimodal ultrasound imaging platform suitable for preclinical research in small animals for the study of cerebrovascular diseases. This instrumentation will help to boost imaging capabilities in our biomedical research environment.
The project includes the following challenges:

There is an actual interest within the global scientific community in the development of non-invasive imaging systems at cellular resolution level. Such devices are used to analyse cell characteristics, relations among cells in tissues and also quantify cell metrics as elasticity or concentration. Diagnostic and treatment studies both in vivo and in vitro and tissue engeneering reasearch will take benefit of such a tool.

Este proyecto parte de los resultados del proyecto "Desarrollo de técnicas para imagen ultrasónica volumétrica basadas en coarray compressed sensing", COCOS. (DPI2016-80239-R).
Introducción
2020
The objective of this project is to develop and evaluate quantitative techniques for the analysis of biomedical images based on spectral and envelope statistics techniques. These methodologies allow adding a new layer of information to conventional ultrasound, providing an enhanced diagnostic capacity to this imaging technology.
SUMIM aims to develop an innovative automated multimodal tomographic ultrasonic imaging system for breast cancer diagnosis / screening. The proposal is part of the current R&D trend to improve the ability to diagnose and monitor this disease by means of automatic ultrasound systems that can complement or replace standard mammography screening (X-rays).
2018
In the present project a study will be carried out to facilitate the generation of ultrasonic images of pieces of complex geometry through the use of industrial robots.
