ARGUS draws on the current challenges in monitoring remote built heritage assets and the current research focus on preventive preservation, and envisions the development of: (a) a novel built heritage digital twin model to support multi-scale/modal data; (b) an advanced digitisation strategy to support the digital twin model; (c) a portable measurements system for non-descructive physical and chemical monitoring based on miniaturised sensors, and sensor composites integration, comprising of ground and aereal components; (d) AI-enabled methods for the modeling and identification (reverse eng
S-RAY aims to develop novel non-invasive technology for the in situ inspection and precise 3D reconstruction of the interior morphology of historical masonry elements. The project addresses one of the main challenges in conservation of heritage structures, which is dealing with the many unknowns and uncertainties about the existing structure (construction materials, geometry, existing damage, etc.).
El proyecto de investigación propuesto está orientado a la investigación, centrado en la prioridad temática Mundo Digital, industria, espacio y defensa, más concretamente en el tema de la robótica y la inteligencia artificial aplicadas al patrimonio cultural.
The proposal mainly aims to reflect on the role that robotics and automation can assume in the context of heritage assessment and conservation. More specifically, the consortium will explore the possibility of upgrading current non-destructive techniques (NDT) and Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) systems to improve their capabilities for structural diagnosis based on automation and robotics.
