La campaña se ha realizado durante las dos primeras semanas de noviembre, dentro del proyecto Heritage Within (HWITHIN).
Heritage Within (HWITHIN) aims to develop an innovative approach to present buildings and archaeological ruins. The project intends to obtain a complete 3D reconstruction of ancient monuments, including the exterior and interior of their constructive elements. The final complete 3D model will be implemented into an augmented reality application to offer a unique visualization of these elements on an almost stone-by-stone basis.
During the experimental on-site campaign at the Archaeological Museum of Carmo, ultrasonic tomography and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) inspection are being used for the inspection of two columns to distinguish the boundaries between different materials and identify the stone blocks that constitute the column. The automatic acoustic tomography system has been specifically adapted to the shape of the masonry columns of the museum and is being implemented for the first time.
