Dra. María Naya-Plasencia
Directora de Investigación en INRIA, Francia
PI of the ERC Consolidator grant SoBaSyC
Symmetric cryptography has made important advances in recent years, mainly due to new challenges that have appeared, requiring some new developments. During this talk we will discuss these challenges and developments, with a particular emphasis on quantum-safe symmetric cryptography and latest results, providing the details of some particularly interesting cases. We will also discuss some related open problems.
Bio: María Naya-Plasencia has a double degree telecommunications engineer diploma from ETSIT UPM and Telecom Sud Paris. She then followed the Applied Algebra Master from Versailles University, and defended her PhD in 2009.
She has been an Inria researcher since 2012 and a Research Director since 2018. She works in the field of cryptography, with an emphasis on symmetric cryptography and quantum cryptanalysis.
